Our journey to transform children's lives
Sonja Bertram's Children Foundation began its initial operations in 2022. In collaboration with Umar Hussaini, a Nigerian educator and philanthropist, Sonja Bertram - a passionate advocate for children's rights and education - established the organization with a clear vision: to create a world where every child has access to quality education and is empowered to become a self-reliant and responsible citizen.
In 2024, the organization was registered by the Nigerian government as a nonprofit organization, and duly registered in accordance with the Money Laundering (Prevention and Prohibition) Act, 2022, by the Special Control Unit Against Money Laundering (SCUML).
From inception, the foundation has touched the lives of many children who have never been to school and those forced out of school by poverty and insurgency. We have donated textbooks, stationery for children of different grades, and instructional materials for teachers in about five communities and IDPs in Nasarawa State and the FCT.
Bringing education to vulnerable children
Angwan Soja Childwoth
Beneficiary of writing materials, sports items, and teachers' instructional resources - located in Area 1, Karu LGA, Nasarawa State.
Triton Kuchikau
A community school along the Abuja-Keffi Expressway, Nasarawa State. Students, staff, and teachers received donations from the foundation.
Tudun Wada & KaronMajigi
Community and IDP schools in the FCT, Abuja, and communities affected by insurgency in North-Eastern Nigeria.
Our main clients for educational aid are vulnerable children - the out-of-school, orphans, and children forced to flee their homes due to insurgency in North-Eastern Nigeria. Despite the huge demand, we work hard with the support and donations of concerned individuals to ensure our charity reaches every child in need.
