History

Sonja Bertram’s Children Foundation began its initial operations in 2022. In collaboration with Umar Hussaini a Nigerian educator and philanthropist, Sonja Bertram a passionate advocate for children’s rights and education. Motivated by her personal experiences and deep commitment to making a difference, Sonja established the organization with a clear vision: to create a world where every child has access to quality education and is empowered to become a self-reliant and responsible citizen.

In 2024, the organization got registered by the Nigeria government as Nonprofit organization. The organization has also been duly registered in accordance with the provisions of the section 17(2)(a) of the money Laundering Provision and Prohibition act, 2022and any other Law or Regulation by the Special Control Unit Against Money Laundering (SCUML).

Sonja Bertram’s Children Foundation from inception has achieved tremendous success in torching lives of many children who have never been to school and those forced out of school as a result poverty and insurgency. The foundation donated textbook, stationary for children of deferent grades including instructional materials for teacher’s use in about five communities and IDPs in Nasarawa state and the FCT.

Angwan Soja Childwoth community school benefited with donation of writing materials, sports items and teachers’ instructional resources. The community school is located in Area 1 Karu local government in Nasarawa state Nigeria.

Triton Kuchikau Community school is also a beneficiary of Sonja Bertram’s Children foundation education supports. The community School located along Abuja-Keffi Express Way also in Nasarawa State. The school principal, staff and students were among the team that received the donation from the foundation.

Sonja Bertram’s Children Foundation main clients for educational Aid are the vulnerable children who includes, the out of school, orphans and children that forced to flee their towns and homes due insurgency in North-eastern Nigeria.

Despite the huge demand for educational intervention for vulnerable children in many communities in Nigeria, Sonja Bertra’s Children Foundation is working very hard with the supports and donations from all concern individuals to making sure that the charity assignment has a torched the life every child in need of any kind of educational support in Nigeria and beyond,

Other communities benefited with the educational support from the foundation are Tudun wada Community School and KaronMajigi IDP community school in FCT Abuja.
